Bonding with Baby

Arveragus is a lusty strong boy. Lifting his head, latching himself onto my breast; it's like giving birth to a 2 month old! I have called him Thaddeus a few times, but he also answers to muffin, asparagus, poop-machine, burp-meister, dumpling, and "the baby". Thaddeus likes his eyeballs. John Henry is taking time adjusting to his name, and the fact that he has been out-weighed (John Henry had been my largest babe at 8 lbs). Mary Catherine and Thalia are regular little mothers and love the baby tenderly. John spends all of his free time breathing in that delicious newborn smell and eating him up. We are all in love.

Congratlations to all of you!! I love your posting about his birth and settling into the family. Will you share the origin of his unusual name? So happy for all of you. Can't wait to meet him some day (which might be by the time he's in high school!). Love, Alexa

Arveragus is the noble knight in Chaucer's Franklin's Tale. It's one of the best stories ever on forgiveness, redemption, love, and honor. The name rhymes with asparagus.

We just found out that there are 4 kittens! I'll post pictures--let me know which one you want Court!
